  4. Empty threats. Never gonna happen. Nuclear threats are played out, so now WW2 style mobilization. Gimme a break. Psychotic assholes.

  5. I doubt it. All that would mean is that a lot of minimally trained conscripts would be joining the fight with an inadequate number of NCOs and junior/mid-grade officers to lead them. They also won’t have adequate vehicles and heavy weapons.

    Add to the above the economic and societal cost of having a cycle or two of conscripts NOT return to their civilian jobs and schools on time (if at all) after their service, and you have a recipe for disaster. Putin knows this. He’s bluffing.

  14. These messages do nothing to suggest the situation in Russia is anything but really bad. Putin seems desperate for an off-ramp but without looking even weaker than he already does.

    This war has done nothing but speed russia’s decline in ways, economically, population, industrial progress, energy production, military might as well as belief in their country as a superpower.

    They’re heading toward a pre WWII economic and industrial block, but with poorly cared for nuclear weapons.
