LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), April 30 (SeeNews) – Slovenia’s consumer price index (CPI) grew 2.3% on the year in April, after rising by an annual 2% in March, the statistical office said on Wednesday.

On a monthly comparison basis, CPI increased by 1.3% in April, following an increase of 0.6% in March, the statistical office said in a press release.

The annual growth rate was driven mainly by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, followed by clothing and footwear, recreation and culture, and restaurants and hotels.

The EU-harmonised consumer price index (HICP) in Slovenia rose 2.3% on the year in April, after it increased 2.2% in March. On a monthly comparison basis, HICP rose 0.8% in April, after increasing at the same pace in March.

Slovenia’s average annual inflation slowed to 2% in 2024 from 7.4% in 2023.
