All news outlets say that we don’t buy propane from Russia but what is this then ?

  1. We are buying Russian gas only in the summer which is then pumped into our storage facility. So yes, right now we are not buying Russian gas because the gas is taken from the storage facility. But overall we are buying Russian gas thus the contract.

    >Inčukalns UGS is pumping natural gas only in summer, when Latvia gets a certain amount of natural gas from Russia established in the contract.

Latvenergo, for example, is now buying gas reserves from USA/Norway/Qatar via Lithuanian LNG terminal. Another piece of public info is that Lithuanian LNG terminal should be able to provide all 3 Baltic states with gas as its capacity is more than the states need (LNG terminal – 40TWh/season, Lithuania – 20TWh/season, Latvia 10TWh/season, Estonia 5TWh/season). So as long as the logistics/sources of moving the gas to the terminal are there we should be able to skip Russian gas altogether.

  2. Resnais ruksis ar savām biznesa interesēm. Droši vien, ja ar varu atņemt naudu garāmgājējiem nebūtu aizliegts ar likumu, tad resnais arī to darītu biznesa interesēs, neskatoties uz to, vai tie ir pensionāri, grūtnieces vai bērni.
