Are we meant to be outraged at employees getting a nice perk? I thought we were meant to be outraged at poor pay conditions, not the other way around.
Get mad at the company not the staff
Im not going to begrudge them, its not as if we are all paying more so they can pay less.

If their salaries were all €670 higher (after tax), no one would care or notice. It’s the sane thing effectively.
But they still get 55pc off a higher number so they are all affected, my employer pays for all for all sorts of stuff. This isn’t uncommon
Good for them as long as this includes low level employees.
And why shouldn’t they?
I don’t see any mention in the article that the price staff pay is fixed just that they get a discount on each bill, so presumably they are also facing an increase in bills.
Hang on…if I text in my meter reading am I working for esb? Where’s my discount
Can we please stop sharing the indo here, it’s owned by the most corrupt business man Irelands ever seen who is trying his hardest to erode workers rights here.
Always with articles like this, and tort reform “she sued for 100k for broken pinky!” remove protections for the public!
Why wouldn’t they? We need more perks for everyone, not less perks.
And? More benefits for employees not less. What a stupid article.
Fair fucks to them
Breaking News: employees to keep terms and conditions as set in contract of employment.
Employees get notional benefits from their employer?!?!? I’m shocked and outraged! How dare employers do anything nice for their employees

If they get 55% off is this the real cost ESB buys it in? If so they are gouging us.
The bastards, the lucky lucky bastards.
Turn the workers on each other, fair play to them for getting a discount. The real question is why does the government profit to the tune of a quarter of a billion euro a year from the ESB while prices are hiked for us.
