Hello. I am from Bangladesh. I was born in a tea estate in the most remote parts of the country. And ever since my childhood I have seen this cemetery, Deanston cemetry.
Years back, I went back there and took some photos. The people that are buried there used to work for James Finlay Tea company. I felt sad that they were buried there, with no relatives there to visit their last resting place. However, I learned some people go there every December to pay their respect to them.
I thought I should post this here so more people know.

Very interesting, thank you
Amazing, I’m from near Cullen.
That’s really interesting and quite nice that someone, after so long, still visits. I grew up not too many miles from Cullen so this is pretty cool!
If anyone is after a neat story off the back of this then Alan Cumming’s Who Do You Think You Are? episode covers how his grandfather, Thomas Darling, ended up buried in Malaysia after losing a game of Russian roulette.
This is great thank you! I have a great aunt who worked for a tea company about this time but we’ve never found out what company. Im going to do some research on this one you have mentioned
Thanks for posting!
It’s called Deanston Cemetery? I live in Glasgow and we have a Deanston road, which I think is named after a village called Deanston in the almost-Highlands. That village is named after a [Walter Drummond, who was the Dean of Dunblane in 1500](https://douneanddeanston.com/deanston/) apparently.
I wonder if they and the cemetery are all named after the same thing?
I love how nice your post is considering there’s a high chance those dead guys committed some atrocities on the local population back in the day.
