Covid-19 powers allowing Government to impose legal restrictions to be let lapse tomorrow

  1. Well done to all the covid deniers, anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers etc because it’s quite obvious that without their constant bitching and moaning this would not be happening tomorrow.

It might have happened ages ago ye gobshites.

  2. Correct decision, we have to move on eventually. Time to start investing in the health system, and not papering over the cracks with Covid restrictions every time there’s a strain on it.

  3. I mean, surely we simply have to get on with it as best we can eventually no? And use personal judgment and common sense on the go forward when navigating this virus?

Unfortunately, Covid isn’t going anywhere anytime soon and I do believe the likes of mask wearing should now be a personal preference (and before everyone jumps down my throat, yes, I absolutely know and appreciate the great job masks did and still do in at least helping stem the spread of Covid).

I mean other than that what’s the alternative? Enforce mask wearing for the next what? 8 – 10 years?

  4. I was assured by posters on this sub that Donnelly would go mad with power, these would never be repealed, and we would enter a new era of authoritarian cruelty.

    I am bitterly disappointed

  5. This can’t be allowed to happen. Now more than ever we need another lockdown. Have the government lost their minds?
