A friend of mine is working on a family tree and has discovered she’s part Lithuanian – Huzzah! I was born in Latvia so she asked me to help her find this location, but neither of us are having any luck. She has two documents for this person. One spells the birthplace as “Skeniki, Lithuania, Russia” and the other one is posted above. We are not sure if this is a spelling or language issue, or if this town/city no longer exists as this person was born in the 1800s. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Edit: Person born in 1877 to be exact, last name Zaleckas 🙂

Seems like Spengla in Varėna district.
