AI has been part of enterprise strategy for about a decade. Geopolitics has influenced global dynamics for centuries. But never before have all three intersected at such scale, speed and automation, said Alberto Yépez, managing director of ForgePoint Capital. This convergence makes many traditional cybersecurity tools and frameworks obsolete.
“Boards of directors are asking all the right questions. Are we safe? Are we using AI?” said Yepez, adding that the pressure to act is intensifying in light of a volatile global economy and rising geopolitical tensions.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSAC Conference 2025, Yépez also discussed:
How sovereign tech, AI compute and defense innovation are reshaping the global security landscape;
Why global collaboration is essential to address ransomware, cyber espionage and deepfakes;
Key trends to watch in H2 2025.
Yépez is one of the pioneers of the cybersecurity industry and has played significant roles as a CEO and board member as well as an angel and venture capital investor. He currently focuses on cybersecurity investments.
