I don’t like BDW as a politician, but I do appreciate his cynicism.
He did – in the same breath – mention respecting the separation of powers. Whether it’s tactful to be critical of the judicial branch as the PM is another story.

Bouchez did the exact same thing when he wasn’t allowed to run a parachuted TV star for the city council election (she was never able to prove she lived there because she was never present in the appartment she got from Bouchez when police visited to confirm the residency).
So Bouchez just said the judiciary was controlled by the socialists too.
A very worrying trend. Trumpism vibes in Belgian politics on both sides of the language border. It’s one thing to disagree with a judicial decision, it’s another to say that it’s because they’re own by your political adversaries…
I fucking hate how MAGAism is inspiring some politicians here too.
The worst ones, of course, as always. Be it Bouchez or the regionalists, the Christian fundies… the bottom of the barrel keeps getting deeper and deeper.
