Title says it. I’ve been recently introduced to idea of putting other things than blinds to the rail (e.g. plants, light fans, etc.). But I couldn’t find anywhere, including apartment handbook, max load (kgs) for such thing. Blinds are couple kgs, so it must be at least somehow robust .

  1. I think you should find the weight capabilities of the screws holding the rail in place and go from there. I’ve never done that though, so that’s the only suggestion it comes to my mind. You can also ask in r/DIY

  2. As we say in engineering, “fuck around and find out”.

I just hung a few plants (with clay pots) from the exact same rails a week ago and haven’t had any issues. Probably 500g to 1 kg each. I’m more concerned that the plastic ‘slider’ will fail since it’s injection molded and not very thick around the critical load bearing surfaces. So far however I’ve not had any catastrophic failures..

  3. We had a flower pot hanging on a rail like this. But we was too heavy. Maybe if you hang it exactly where the screws are you’ll be fine
