Celebrity chef Jameson Stocks has sparked a war of words with Netflix over Meghan Markle over his criticism of the Duchess.

The Michelin-starred cook, 41, told how he received a legal letter from Netflix warning him about making further disparaging comments about Meghan, having previously slammed her cooking skills showcased on new series With Love, Meghan.

Mr Stocks told The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden he ‘proper p****d them off. Netflix did not like it and came after me,’ before describing the legal letter as ‘a load of nonsense’.

The chef also insisted he would be ignoring the streamer’s scare tactics, adding: ‘I am not taking any notice. How can she get all this money from Netflix? I don’t think she can cook and I don’t think she should be teaching people to cook either.’

However, a spokesperson for the streaming giant later denied the existence of a legal letter sent to Stocks.

In a statement provided to Mailonline, it read: ‘No legal letter was sent to Jameson Stocks from Netflix.’

Sources close to Stocks, anointed Britain’s next culinary star by his mentor Marco Pierre White, however are adamant he did receive a warning letter and accused Netflix of stirring up trouble due to his current association with a rival streamer.

The source said: ‘Netflix has form for sending many letters of this type to celebrities, both in the UK and US.

‘He’s currently working with another streaming provider so it comes as no surprise.

‘They are never going to admit it publicly.’

It’s not the first time Stocks’ has been questioned by the streamer for making comments about Meghan and Netflix.

In March, he alleged the makers of With Love, Meghan asked him to appear on the show during a conversation with execs at New York Fashion Week in February last year.

He claimed he was asked to be a consultant on a ‘mystery lifestyle programme’ but he ‘shut it down quite quickly’ as it ‘just wasn’t for me’.

Elaborating during an appearance on GB News, he said: ‘I was asked last year by Netflix if I wanted to consult on a lifestyle programme.

‘They didn’t go into too much detail about who it was but I already kind of knew anyway.’

The chef claimed those he met ‘were kind of preparing’ him for the star and show to be ‘very divisive’.

He explained his reluctance to participate: ‘I felt like even if she produced a really great programme – which I was quite sceptical of – that I might get a little bit slammed for being a part of it.’

But Netflix once again denied a conversation ever took place, as a production source claimed the show was not even in development when Stocks alleges the meeting took place.

In an appearance on GB News, he hinted he was asked to consult on the show: 'I was asked last year by Netflix if I wanted to consult on a lifestyle programme.'

A source close to Mr Stocks, however, insists there was a conversation.

Stocks has kept up his verbal assault on Meghan, advising her to ‘go back to acting’ and insisting she should ‘not be teaching people to cook’.

He also mocked Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever, saying: ‘Her jam sold out in minutes.

‘I think they probably only had about ten of each product.’

The outspoken chef has continued to be super critical of Meghan’s show across the Pond, telling the New York Post: ‘I just didn’t like the programme.’

‘It wouldn’t matter if it was Gordon Ramsay, Wolfgang Puck or Donald Duck.’

And he claims his comments have sparked hundreds of death threats.

He said: ‘I’ve not gone in on somebody personally here because that’s something I do not do and would not do.

‘All of a sudden, I’m getting death threats on me.’

MailOnline has contacted Mr Stocks’ reps for comment.
