Romania Urges Ukraine to Derecognise ‘Non-Existent’ Moldovan Language

  1. If a language is standardized in a territory a bit differently, then it is a different language, regardless of how similar they sound. Obviously Moldovan is a subset of Romanian, but it could still be a separate language – that’s how languages work.

Edit: people downvoting while not understanding how languages work…

  2. I agree with Romania.

In return it would be nice for Romania to publicly recognize Ukraine’s right to determine language policy on it own territory.

  3. Honestly, Idk anything about this.. we (serbians) recognized all languages after brake up of Yugoslavia.. so we dont care..

But Romania, can be difficult and make problems without any reason.. for example, they blocked or wanted to block Serbias accession to EU, if Serbia doesnt recognize all Vlasi people as Romanians.. and that is stupid, nobody forbids them to declare as they want.. why do I care if someone in some village wants to be Romanian or Vlach..
