It’s local elections, no one except the most fervent give a shit.
Yeah these results are embarrassing, hopefully it doesn’t translate over to the next general election.
And best of luck to all the poor buggers who’ve found themselves now living in reform areas.
The only plus side is that voters will hopefully see how shit Reform are at governing and Reform do poorly in the next General Election.
I had a scary thought that said Labour will have no chance next election for many reasons , nor their other cheek the Tories so when it all hits the fan the reform and Tories will form a coalition.
Shivers.
Canada and Australia were general elections deciding who became their government and prime minister.
In UK we had a small amount of council seats and one (Out of 650) by-election.
Results still concerning but not really comparable.
Not fair to equate bi elections to general elections, which Labour also won. Great results for all three countries – let’s have more optimism.
What are you talking about? I can’t think of anything struggling councils (particularly in the North East) need more than austerity.
All these struggling families need is the safety net taken away so they can learn to pull up their bootstraps.
No one except pensioners can be arsed with local elections. And pensioners love to vote for politicians who promise to hurt the right kind of people.
These were local elections. Not the same thing. That said, it’s scary how many working class people vote for this obvious bullshit.
From what I saw, it was *mostly* Tory lead councils (often strongholds) that ditched them. Lib Dems and Greens got some gains and Labour did poorly. But based on the councils involved, I am not overly surprised.
Maybe if we had a sausage sizzle at UK pollings we’d get a better turn out?
Oh, yeah, that comparison really works…
This is desperate, low effort shite.
Right wingers voted for right and left wingers voted for left is a pretty good summary of the situation.
It was just England bro, don’t associate the rest of us with that nonsense…
Hurrr weform hhuhuhu stop der botes hmmmm haha nijel gawage
I’ve seen so many Aussies on X saying they need their own Farage.
It seems like a lot of people are watching what’s going on in the US and thinking “yes, I want some of that over here”🤦♂️
Reform are the next “let’s vote against our own interests” ploy
Not really, because the other two are general elections. Ergo, all the dragons should be similar
It’s quite amazing how much fuss the media are making over Reform UK Ltd compared to the Greens, who got far more seats on councils.
Oh actually I’m not at all amazed.
Sadly we are the USA of Europe
The odd one, falling for the Russian candidate.
Never go full England.
Looking forward to Carney implementing Starmerism and guaranteeing a far-right landslide next time.
Next UK election will likely be after the next American one. Hopefully the reality of what these grifters across the pond actually deliver is so obvious that even people considering voting for Reform can understand it.
Local elections are totally different and usually more of a protest vote. This is pretty common tbh (especially without European elections as well) and doesn’t really mean a whole lot nationally
Just because we stopped being retards for a couple of years didn’t mean we’d stopped entirely
*England
Uk is fine it’s local councils that have no power and Labour have 10x what reform have
Okay I get it but this meme format sucks for this. Two angry gold hoarding, children roasting dragons and a silly disarming dragon.
Pathetic, isn’t it? We’re going to be the only country that responds to the Trump presidency with: “duuuuhhrrr, as too, please.” 🥴
