Having now entered the final stretch for this year’s Eurovision, more and more missions are revealing details about each country’s stage presence and the team behind it. In a press release, VRT, the Dutch-speaking Belgian national broadcaster, revealed the Belgian creative team for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest.
Yves Ruth will be the creative director & choreographer for Red Sebastian’s performance in Basel. Yves was the creative director for Belgium in 2016 and was a member of the Belgian jury for Eurovision 2021. He will be joined by Hans Pannecoucke, who worked for several Belgian and Dutch Eurovision performances, including ‘Arcade’, the winning Eurovision 2019 entry. Ignace D’Haese will be the light designer and Alessandro Leën the motion designer for the stage performance.
The outfit in which Red Sebastian will appear was designed by Bert De Coninck, an frreelance fashion designer who has worked with clients such as Dries Van Noten, Wales Bonner, Natan and Walter Van Beirendonck. The garment will remain a secret until rehearsals begin, but De Coninck revealed that it will feature Red Sebastian’s signature colour, red. Jody Van Gee will be in charge of styling.
It was also revealed that Red Sebastian will be joined by three dancers and a singer on stage in Basel. Bruno De Rouck, Goran Tourenne and Hugo Gebbia are the dancers who will accompany the show. All three dancers have extensive experience in live concerts and TV shows. Lani Pellegrini, who met Red Sebastian when they were both studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, will provide backing vocals for the performance. Ibernice Macbean, who teaches at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, will join the mission as vocal coach.
Red Sebastian will hold his first rehearsal on Sunday 4 May and will perform 9th in the running order of the Eurovision 2025 First Semi-Final on Tuesday 13 May, with his song ‘Strobe Lights’.
