basically the question above, I think the [JerryRigEveryting Razor Knife](https://jerryrigknife.com/) would be a great birthday present for my dad, but i dont really know about “knifelaw” in germany. But as far as i know switchblades are illegal? Dont know whether they are considered a switchblade, bc they are intended as a “cutter knife”

This is just a pretty standard box cutter knife, you can buy that in every hardware store. Owning one is definitely legal, carrying one in public could be a problem.
You can get similar knives in any hardware store. You/he should be fine.
There are still areas where bringing a knife is illegal – but those are usually “marked”.
Apart from that for use within your own home/garden pretty much any knife is OK (only very few exceptions).
