ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Volunteers spend the morning giving back to the neighborhood and helping the environment for Miracle Mile‘s 21st Annual Clean-Up Day.

Attendees met at 8:30 a.m. May 3 at Alpine Inn for a breakfast and to receive their cleanup assignments.
From 9-11 a.m., they worked to create a safer, more welcoming environment along Keith Creek in Rockford’s Miracle Mile by picking up trash. They worked to clean up the Morsay Drive area from Alpine to Fairview Shopping Center.

“Have some pride for where we live, and also, volunteer with a clean-up event, whether it’s with us or with somebody else, help keep our community looking good. Rockford is a wonderful community and we want to reflect that,” said Amy Hoening, Executive Director of Miracle Mile Rockford.
