3. I don’t think it actually matters that no one has that job title. The whole proposal is about communicating cultural values. It isn’t about the economic savings at all.

10. And the stupidity starts, how I reckon this is going to go is she has said they are going to get rid of the diversity officers and then claim a couple days later that they are all gone. To anyone who is an idiot(Reform Voter) they will actually look like they accomplished something when they did nothing in actuality.

11. Luckily, UK Labour laws are a lot better than the US. So even if they want to sack people, they can’t. They’d have to make them redundant. And civil service redundancy packages are pretty good.

13. “Local democracy” is in 2025 ultimately pointless.

    I work for a local authority: honestly your locally elected councillors are essentially powerless. Due to funding cuts, local authorities have essentially been cut back to their statutory obligations. Basically all your council tax goes on dealing with social care and homelessness.

    You can vote for whoever you like, that will not change: these are legal obligations. All the elected councillors get is a say on how to spend whatever is left after the statutory stuff is paid for. You’re basically electing a committee that decides which public toilets remain open.

    I am honestly looking forward to the newly elected Reform candidates discovering that they can’t DOGE all the browns and trannies, and they have literally zero power or influence.

When are you going to understand that the silent majority have a voice too when it comes to voting. You might not openly see it, especially on reddit, but you will see it in politics…..Trump 2nd term should teach you that.

22. Why haven’t we figured out that if you don’t want reform to win you need to convince voters that another party is the better option. The general opinion of reform voters seems to be misinformed, racist or bigots, so instead of being open with their opinion they will just keep it to themselves until they can vote without scrutiny. Do you want their vote or not?
