Despite claims of an “unstoppable” clean energy revolution, the slow growth rate of renewable energy, at 0.3%–0.6% annually, suggests otherwise. The concept of an “energy transition” is flawed, as humanity has consistently utilized the same six primary energy sources for millennia, with no evidence of a complete shift away from any of them. While technological advancements have changed how we access and utilize these sources, they have not replaced them, and this pattern is likely to continue.

  1. Malarkey lmao. The synopsis’ argument is so bad.
It’s like looking at the first cars and saying ‘Humanity has been using the same form of transport for the last few millennia; I only see a few cars on the street right now, so there is absolutely no evidence that horses will be replaced’

Yet the world is already over 30% renewable powered lmao. Any many country have renewables as over half of their energy mix! The evidence that fossil fuels will be replaced is the fact that renewables are being deployed at an exponentially increasing rate. More GWs of solar were deployed than any other source last year.

Conservatives just love to deepthroat fossil fuel companies despite the fact that red states are currently making a fortune off of the growth of the renewable sector.

  2. Anyone who wants a serious quantitative analysis of this question can just read Vaclav Smil’s book Energy Transitions.

  3. Right-wing propaganda site. Talking points for clueless morons.
