As someone who doesnt really support the general Russian sanctions (I am perfectly okay with them seizing assets of Russian oligarchs and targetted sanctions of individuals), since Cuba, Iran, North Korea, etc, have shown that general sanctions dont work and only harm regular people, and reinforce the Us vs Them mentality. But not clapping for Zelensky seems like a bit of a weird line to take, of course he is going to call for hard sanctions and anything he can that would benefit Ukraine.
