  1. That’s absolutely extortionate.

I was at an Applegreen recently and a chicken fillet roll starts at €6.99. STARTS!!!

Who knows how much you’ll end up paying for it when you all your salad and sauce. I love chicken fillet rolls but they aren’t worth more than €3.50 to be fair. I’d maybe spend a fiver if it came with taytos and a drink.

  2. That is crazy. Probably some manky cold chicken as well

  3. Up voting ONLY because the picture is of the display, and not a receipt after purchase, giving out about gouging.

  4. WTF for a sandwich… Do you get a whole chicken with that

  5. That’s pretty bad. The bread doesn’t look particularly expensive either

  6. That’s nuts. People need to just stop buying things like that — complete and utter rip off and at a pricing level that’s not even sustainable. If we’re expected to pay €13.50 for a sandwich there comes a point when people just stop doing things like dining out — it goes back to being an unaffordable luxury like it was in the 80s.

There’s a sweet spot where the economy works and people spend money and there’s a volume of trade. It feels like with stuff like this that point is beginning to tip. Normal things are starting to feel out of reach.

  7. And not even freshly made, god knows how long it’s been sitting there, no thanks.

  8. Somebody must be paying for it but that’s ridiculous.

  9. That’s insane haha looks a basic ass cuisine de france roll too

  10. How much for the couple slices of ham and Aldi cheese beside it can you remember ?

  11. Always hope these places crash and burn and the owners ends up bankrupt. Cunts.

  12. I was expecting some yolk in the middle of Dublin not the backarse of Galway.

    That is fucking outrageous.

  13. Local petrol station is selling basic shite sandwiches for €6.50-€8.00. I only noticed because I saw they had the yellow sticker reduced to clear and went to buy one and the reduced price was nearly a fiver!! Needless to say I didn’t buy anything! Shocking altogether!

  14. well its because of covid, war in ukraine, tariifs ,brexit isnt it ? they have to make a few cent,.they should have round it up to a nice even 15euro. /s

    the neck on em

  15. It’s clearly not a chicken filet roll

    It’s a chicken *baguette*

  16. I know I’m a dinosaur now, but a ham salad roll and a can of coke used to be £1punt in Londis when I went to secondary school in 90s

  17. This was priced by an accountant who had to take in account, the Range Rover to go to Musgraves, The weekly dinner + hotel with that young waitress who only stands looking at her phone. The triple layered toilet paper and air sticks. Etc. Running a business is expensive. The fool who buys white bread as a sustance deserved to be ripped off. Here is your Eur 7.30 Capu cchinooo.

  18. You know what, if you go to Lidl and buy all the ingredients, you can make a pretty tasty sandwich and save some money – prices have gotten out of hand lately

  19. Most of them type baguettes are day old and bland aswell. Absolute fucking chancers.

  20. Let’s face it the only good thing about a chicken fillet roll is it’s 5 euro – these cxnts can gtf.

  21. In Vincent’s A&E yesterday with a friend, €4.50 for a small bottle of coke out of the vending machine. Had no choice as the nurse said he needed a bit of sugar as we waited. Madness.

  22. 13.50 for a sandwich that’s an hours wages for a minimum wage worker its a disgrace.

  23. We can all make that sandwich for less than 1/3 that price.

  24. Shocking but also to be fair there’s nothing near Leenaun. They can probably afford to charge that

  25. EUROS?!?!?! thats 21.07 in Cad where I am, thats the most expensive sandwich I’ve seen outside a sit-down restaurant, and even then it doesn’t come with anything else!!!!
