Spotted at UCD Centra, was €2 this morning and €1.80 a couple weeks ago.

  1. what did you expect? 🤔 Its only the tip of the iceberg. Increased energy/fuel/raw material costs will be passed onto the consumer.

  2. The smell of chocolate milk always reminds me of Tuesday morning Irish sitting next to one of the school rugby players.

    No homo

  3. Price of fuel for the lorry that goes around to farms to pick up milk has shot up, price of fuel for delivery of the product to the shop has gone up. Price of electricity for the factory which makes it has shot up. Price of electricity in the shop it’s sold has gone up.

The cost of making a product and selling a product has gone right up.

  4. The price of fertiliser has gone up to a grand for a tonne, this is only the beginning of price rises.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a turkey shortage at Christmas because I’ve already heard 1 farmer near me isn’t going to keep any this year due to the cost of feed.

  5. Small centra shops are always cheeky with prices before all the cost hikes.

They are selling boost energy drinks now without the 79c label on them now for €1.15.

Walk into Mr price they are selling them for 69c

  6. Milk – or any form of Bovine Excretions should be a lot more expensive if you factor in the cruelty to the animal that is kept pregnant in order to produce the milk for that drink.

Her calf is forcibly taken away – if it’s male it is sold and killed for ‘veal’ and if it’s female it will face the same fate as her mother.

That is to be forcibly impregnated multiple times until ‘spent’ and then sent to the ‘factory’ so your ‘Milk Drink’ is actully cheap.

There is a quote that maybe you could read please:

Gary Yourofsky: “The problem is that humans have victimized animals to such a degree that they are not even considered victims.
They are not even considered at all. They are nothing. They don’t count; they don’t matter; they’re commodities like TV sets and cell phones.
We have actually turned animals into inanimate objects – sandwiches and shoes.”

  7. whoever goes to the UCD centra for drinks and snacks, just go to SU if you can instead for a slightly better price

  8. Who would have thought that shutting down society for two years and printing money to cover the cost would lead to problems?

  9. UCD Centra is a double convenience store because centra is in it self a convenience store and then on top of that it is in close proximity to student accommodation. Demand is high and as a consequence the price increases – nothing ill-willed about that. It’s not like people aren’t willing to still buy the products.

  10. €2 was probably a promotional price, the base price increase was probably applied at the end of the promotional period. Making the price increase appear even worse than it is

  11. If i can’t get my mooju I’m gonna fucking shit out the window, that’s civilization done as far as I’m concerned.

  12. These are electronic price tags (eSELs) part of the selling point of equipping a whole store with them is that you can set them to dynamically adjust the price based on sales. So the more Mooju sold – the higher the price can go. These types of pricetags are very popular in France and will become more popular here over the next few years

  13. Monster gone upto 2€ off 1.60……how the fuck else can I cope with the mongos I work with….

  14. That UCD centra when I was there was daylight robbery. And that stupid university policy on sugary drinks, alcohol, and nicotine really took away its appeal. Fleeced and ye can’t even get the goods for the sesh pure scandal

  15. Imo UCD has gone to shit. I’m in final year now and like 4 years ago everything was cheap, coffee was delish, was nice places to eat on campus, chicken fillet rolls were the best in the country and only 3 euro. Coffee is now SHIT, chicken fillet rolls are 5 euro, vibes are just shite on that campus
