While traveling around the world for over 20 years, I’ve been working on my dream project: creating a one-stop resource for travellers. I now created this overview [ https://www.takeyourbackpack.com/backpacking-in-lithuania/ ] for anyone who is interested in visiting Lithuania (with some detailed info for every highlight), hopefully you will love it as much as I did.

PS: obviously, I haven’t been able to travel to all places. So if you know some great spot, I haven’t listed, let me know! Much appreciated as in this way I can make the overview more complete and up-to-date for everyone.

  1. Nice project, you can gather some ideas/places to go from lietuvon.lt

And I think there was also a great interactive map which lets you to create routes, it was trips.lt or something similar but I can’t find it right now.

  2. How can Kryžių kalnas be missing here? Also Kurtuvėnai is not a national park, but I’d still recommend anyone going there! Maybe change the label to nature park, so it’s more inclusive.

  3. The selection of small towns feels random. Why Lazdijai, Pabradė, and Kukliai but not Druskininkai, Kėdainiai, or Telšiai?

Nobody says “laba popietė”, but rather “laba diena”.

Honestly feels like it was AI-generated by someone who has never set foot in Lithuania.
