I’ve just been doing the wedding in the garden and dug a little deeper to find this… I can see it’s a silver jubilee but it’s a chunky bit of glass… wonder why it ended up in the garden

It’s a glass paperweight from 1977 Jubilee. Worth about £8.
Looks like a paperweight to me.

It contains the soul of the late Queen. Bury it immediately.

It’s a glass ER
Paperweight
The people in the comments clearly aren’t as qualified in ancient glassology as me. This actually a glass amulet from 1977 **BC**, made during the twenty fifth year of the reign of the god-king Ellr. Easy mistake to the untrained eye.
Need a banana for scale
Congrats on the happy day!
Probably an ice cube
Discarded murder weapon.
Must have a big garden if you are hosting weddings
Ahhh, the famous ER, standing for Extremely Royal!
Why were you digging on your wedding?!

Jubilee paperweight. How lovely!! Looks like dartington crystal.
Try going to a professional appraiser to see how much it’s worth based of the looks and design, if it is in pristine condition then you could raise the value. After that you could continue digging in your backyard and find more stuff like this, perhaps you’ve got some luck and could make loads of money. Maybe even end up on the news.
All the kids round my way got one at the street party. Still got mine somewhere.
It’s an “Er”.
You know, for ‘Er in the palace.
If I’m not mistaken this is a shallow depth sounding plug.
Silver joobs
It’s a giant Fox’s Glacier Mint.
It’s a small Czechoslovakian traffic warden.
It looks like a royal seal
Looks like a paperweight.
I remember the Silver Jubilee celebrations (yes, I’m that old…). All kinds of EIIR commemorative items were produced that year: coins, buttons, plates and other china items, flags, letter openers… and very likely paperweights.
Collectable jubilee tat
