Trump is impressive in his tenacity to always make the worst judgement calls possible.
Is this some weird move to mimic china’s movie industry but without making it look like he is. It’s an odd tactic although I get his want to keep more $ being spent in the states
The CGI industry is going to have a field day since Hollywood won’t want to travel to location anymore. Meanwhile, we get even more sterile CGI bollocks to watch on our screens.

With all the high demand for Hollywood’s latest movies… I hope we still get to see them…. Imagine if we couldn’t see Star wars 52 or the remake of the remake of a fairytale from before jesus was born….
I can’t think of an industry that has benefitted more from global free markets than Hollywood and then the big tech streamers. How much more of the market does American productions and movies want to even occupy domestically.

How does a tariff on films work in principle? I get it for things you import, but does this mean that people in the US have to pay more at the movies for tickets? How does it work for streaming subscriptions? I’m not sure how I see this working in practise.

All the George Harrison funded Hand Made Films were great and they all contained a fantastic narrative.
Recently, I was reviewing my budget and realised I was signed up to 4 different streaming services. If this tarrif nonsense causes price rises, then I definitely think I could make do with just 1 or even none.
