Was This the Week Putin Badly Miscalculated?

1. I’ve been thinking about that the last couple days. Trump was willing to give incredible concessions to Putin, and if he’d taken them, he could have finished the job a year or two from now. Despite that, the Russians were unwilling to make any meaningful concessions whatsoever, and now it suddenly looks a lot better for Ukraine.

   One thing I suppose this might miss is that Putin perhaps doesn’t trust Western countries to not put troops in Ukraine during a ceasefire. Then again, he probably thinks he can break those troops, but it would certainly make things more difficult for Russia when it restarts the war.

2. No, that would be the week of 24th February 2022.

   Since then his options have been limited and predictable.
