On our way back from Katowice to Lodz on Stadler Float. Train batteries died and we waited in Gorzkowice station for 2 hours. For ~40min we couldn’t exit as the doors had no power and bathrooms were locked out too 🫠.

Are PKP known to give refunds or reimbursements for such case???

  1. Imagine going on a trip by PKP and not bringing your own battery with you to power the train /s

  2. Yes but you have to write to them and they will only give you equivalent of ticket price or less.

  3. I have the same situation las holiday. Warszaw – Lodz.

Yes, you’re entitled to 25% refund for a delay of 60 to 119 minutes and 50% for a delay of 120 minutes or more. As other people said, you’ll need to fill a form and send it to them.

  6. Sometimes they’ll give you a hamburger from McDonald’s and a bottle of water, but don’t expect more.

  7. I love how people bitch about PKP and you can tell they never used Deutsche Bahn or SNCF and have no clue of what real delay/struggle with public transport is.

No public transport is perfect, but PKP is hands down in the top 10 in the EU.

  8. 2 godziny to dobry timing, ja tam dalej pamiętam opóźnienia sortu 24-48h podczas zimy stulecia.

  9. > couldn’t exist doors

Shouldn’t there me emergency mechanical open? That sounds like safety hazard
