This map was passed down by my great grandfather from his time in a war. I’m not sure what war or what year. Does anyone have any information?

I believe WWII as the legend talk about the “occupied zone” and border with Germany. Could be wrong tho
I’m surprised there is no date written in the doc. It’s hard to see
It’s a map of France.
You’re welcome.

Do you know the birthday years of your great grandfather to help us? Cause of the « new German border » without some states, I would say after the 1ww… but don’t know when exactly!
I’m french and those map are famous here. They are called Taride, they were monthly published between 1830 and 1945, so she could be 70 to 190 years old.
As for which year, as far i an read on this map it’s seemingly showing border of Alsace and Germany after the Versailles Treaty in 1919, also showing border of african and Indian colonies before we lose them after the WW2, so i would bet on 1920 for the publishing year
It’s between 1918 and 1920, as one of the categories is about “French occupied Saarland”, and “updated german borders”. Imho it’s ~~1918~~ or 1919.
It has the “territoire de la Sarre” which is the Territory of the Saar Basin, an independent protectorate from 1920 to 1935. So I’d say after WWI.
Scanning for amongi…
After november 1918 (end of the war and come back of alsace moselle), and before june 1919 ( nothing has been decided for cameroon)
