Where I work, we have to provide a negative LFT before every shift. We also have to record our temperature and tick the “No” box to each of the dozen other symptoms that nobody has ever ticked “Yes” to.
No actual proof that the LFT I did at home was negative either. We’re expected to just write the barcode down and pinky promise.
This should be something NHS staff can claim back if government isn’t going to keep it available. You know full well MPs will add such to their expenses.
Ad I’ve said on ukpolitics – once I’ve run out of my current supply if my trust don’t pay for them/supply them then I’m not doing it. I can’t afford it. Buy them for me or get lost.

Yeah, so all of your critical-necessary and invaluable staff of a national health system required to pay for the testing of their health to continue to work in health care.
Did I get that right?
Is this a fucking joke? Seriously.
Probably a good time for a strike seeing as the staff realy shouldn’t have to pay for their tests to get to work
What an absurd headline. Nobody *has* to pay £50 for covid tests.
> NHS England has said that its staff will be expected to report their test and trace results twice a week.
Source????
People are being financially punished for doing the right thing. The government offered NHS staff a paltry pay rise in response to their work throughout 2020 and this further burden is only going to make things harder during an unprecedented cost of living crisis. It’s just another kick in the teeth for people who have done their best when the NHS has been under significant strain.
Jokes on them if they think I have a spare 50p lying around let alone £50.
There is already talk of public health England providing them within the trust where I work, I don’t think we will end up paying for them.

Maybe Rishi S should set up a site to donate to people who are still being forced to test but expected to pay for them out of money they don’t have.
