  1. Submission statement: Israel’s security cabinet has approved a plan to expand the Gaza offensive into a war of conquest. They have approved holding territory even though it could cost them the rescue of the hostages. The plan will only come into effect after President Trump visits the country next week. Additionally, they have revised their system for humanitarian distribution of aid such that packages will be given to individual families.

  2. Netanyahu decided to abandon the hostages despite Israeli public opinion, to massively damage Israel’s international reputation multiple times in this war, especially a viable peace deal (he should have at least tried in stage 2), and Trump is rubber-stamping something that damages any chance of another Abraham accords with the Saudis.

I’m just done with this war and following international affairs because of it.

  3. Annexing Gaza and expelling the Palestinians is certainly one way to end the problem. Hamas refused to surrender; they refused to negotiate in good faith. And they refused to return the hostages. They started this war, and now Israel is going to end it.

This definitely counts as genocide. Israel says it will be pushing the Gazans south, presumably into Egypt, unless they plan on resettling them in Israel proper. I wonder if they’re counting on Egypt to shoot them all so they don’t have to.

The world needs to hold all sides accountable here. Unfortunately, given that the ICC is toothless against state actors and bad behavior is only escalating globally, I doubt they will. The most I see happening is Western countries (in the New World, not Europe) taking in refugees as a prestige stunt. probably Canada, Brazil, Colombia, and maybe Bolivia.
