**TLDR:**
* **President Donald Trump is restarting collections on defaulted student loans after a five-year pause.**
* **Five million borrowers are in default, and millions more are set to enter that phase in the summer.**
* **Those borrowers could face wage and federal benefit garnishment if they don’t make payments.**
Trump seems like a real dick
Not to be all doom and gloomy, but I have 30k+ in student loans. I also am looking at $250k in hospital bills. I’m going to have another stroke, which will be another $250k, if I make it to the hospital in time, and assisted living for the rest of my life if I don’t. My next stroke is likely inside 10 years.
What is the impetus for getting that 30k paid off? I won’t live long enough to pay off either one.

I mean, isn’t it about time to restart this? It’s been 5 years. People need to pay their bills.
Ban student loan interest
President Biden would have cruised to reelection if he had made good on the student loan forgiveness promises
Promises made. Promises kept.
Good. No free rides!
Relief for the American taxpayer…awesome!
