  1. **TLDR:**

    * **President Donald Trump is restarting collections on defaulted student loans after a five-year pause.**
    * **Five million borrowers are in default, and millions more are set to enter that phase in the summer.**
    * **Those borrowers could face wage and federal benefit garnishment if they don’t make payments.**

  2. Not to be all doom and gloomy, but I have 30k+ in student loans. I also am looking at $250k in hospital bills. I’m going to have another stroke, which will be another $250k, if I make it to the hospital in time, and assisted living for the rest of my life if I don’t. My next stroke is likely inside 10 years.

What is the impetus for getting that 30k paid off? I won’t live long enough to pay off either one.

  3. I mean, isn’t it about time to restart this? It’s been 5 years. People need to pay their bills.

  4. President Biden would have cruised to reelection if he had made good on the student loan forgiveness promises
