I'm an American who is trying to understand this 'Finnish "Regions" Be Like' video and figured I'd make a series of posts asking you guys to explain these stereotypes and what you imagine when you think of these places.

Figured I'd start with Åland:

  1. Used to live there. Beautiful nature. Economically very well off. Difficult to to assimilate as they have the finnish small town thing, but only much worse. Speaking Swedish won’t make you any friends, they see you as an outsider if you’re not born there.
