The eleventh edition of the Days of Slovenian Film will be held from 7 to 11 May at the National Audiovisual Archive of Serbia – the Yugoslav Film Archive. The film programme will feature over 25 productions, while the accompanying programme will include a round table, a panel discussion, a monograph promotion, and an exhibition.

The festival will be officially opened on 7 May at 8:30 PM in the “Makavejev Hall,” followed by the screening of the digitally restored film The Felons, directed by Franci Slak in 1987. This political thriller, incorporating elements of grotesque and Kafkaesque absurdity, was filmed in the area of Gorizia (Italy) and Nova Gorica (Slovenia), which together hold the title of European Capital of Culture this year under the slogan GO! Borderless.

As part of the main programme of DSF, Serbian audiences will have the chance to see the feature film Family Therapy, the award-winning full-length debut by director Sonja Prosenc, for the first time. The film premiered at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival in New York and received as many as nine Vesna awards at the Portorož Festival in 2024.

In addition to this film, the main programme will also include the feature films It’s a Robbery by Gregor Andolšek and Five Minutes of Paradise by Igor Pretnar from 1959. The documentary section will present works such as The Moment of the River by Anja Medved and Nadja Velušček, Eisenstein’s Student: Director Igor Pretnar in Moscow directed by Slavko Hren, Cinema Volta by Martin Turk, Ars by Amir Muratović, Body by Petra Seliškar, and In My Dreams, a Tree Grows Every Night by Vid Hajnšek.

The event will also take place in Novi Sad (at the Museum of Natural History), Niš (at the Niš Cultural Centre), Pančevo (at the Pančevo Cultural Centre), Smederevo (at the Smederevo Centre of Culture), Kovin (at the Culture Centre), Vršac (at the Culture Centre) and Bor (at the Drago Čeh Slovenian Cultural Association).
