A pilot scheme has given James Browne
the opportunity to produce films in Ireland that he felt weren’t being explored, while helping him to heal from past experiences

I’m an actor, writer and filmmaker, and I got my first professional gig over 20 years ago. I subsidised my income by working in bars during the first 10 years of my career.

In an old incarnation, I made independent films in Ireland, but then my co-producer and best friend passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack aged 41. I lost the passion for making films after that as I really only wanted to make them with him, so I stepped away completely.
