The Israel-Gaza war that began on October 7, 2023, was triggered by a massive and unprecedented attack by Hamas on southern Israel, resulting in the deaths of over 1,200 people and the taking of hostages, including civilians. In response, Israel launched a large-scale military campaign aimed at dismantling Hamas’ military infrastructure in Gaza. Despite mounting casualties and international calls for de-escalation, Hamas repeatedly refused to surrender or release all hostages, choosing instead to continue launching rockets and engaging in urban guerrilla warfare from civilian areas, which further intensified the conflict. Multiple ceasefire proposals and humanitarian pauses were negotiated, often through intermediaries, but were either rejected outright by Hamas or collapsed due to renewed hostilities. Hamas’ refusal to lay down arms prolonged the war, exacerbated civilian suffering in Gaza, and remained a central obstacle to ending the hostilities.

   IE: Refuse to surrender, only respond to offers of allowing them to claim victory and stay in power, act surprised when the answer is “no” and full invasion starts.

2. Oh look, Israel have finally announced that they’re going to do what everybody knew they were planning to do all along (but it was antisemitic to say so). Could all the hasbara bots who’ve spent the last year and a half shrieking that there was NO WAY that The Most Moral Army in the World ™ would EVER consider such a bloodthirsty and rapacious plan, kindly form a very long line over there and individually tell us that they’re sorry, we were right and they were wrong?
