  1. The election should have been a formality. Instead Merz failed to secure all SPD and CDU votes and in the first time in German post war history a Kanzler candidate is not elected in the first round.

  2. all this country needs is some stability for 4 years but i guess we’re doing this fuckery instead

  3. Good. We don’t need yet another far-right government in Europe.

  4. I am happy that he got a reality check. This is so humiliating for him, and it is what he needs to understand that he cannot lead but with respect to everyone else. I think he wins round two

  5. Even bending over to SPD and ruining the current and next generations is not enough it seems…

  6. Could have been CDU members who want a minority government tolerated by the AfD, because topics where SPD and conservatives were already in agreement with the coalition agreement they could send to votes and then state well, SPD you already agreed to do this why revolt now and for everything SPD doesn’t agree with, they have the right-extremists from the AfD.
Could have been CSU members that want Söder to be chancelor as he they see the man as a godking who even though he is responsible for the two worst election results of CSU in the past 70 years.
Could have been members of SPD who don’t agree with Merz as a chancelor and the path of the SPD in general.
