  6. I honestly like the concept of the Reichstag. It looks massive from outside. The concept that the german people are able to watch their govs through the Glas cieling is pretty nice as well. Some could argue bout the choice of desks and chairs. But Overall.

  18. A few years into the dictatorship mister baldman trying to muster catholic support for the regime reinstated the Papal State as the Vatican City and gave millions to the Holy See as compensation for the capture of Rome of September 1870. Very patriotic.

    The Pope praised Mussolini as “a man of Providence” while swiftly reinvesting all the money he had gained from Italy to the US stock market exponentially growing the Vatican’s wealth reserves after WW2 was over. To this day as stipulations we still pay the Vatican annual fees to use some of their former buildings in Rome, including the one that hosts the Parliament.

    That’s why my favourite monument in Rome is not the Coliseum nor the Forum, it’s Giordano Bruno’s statue in Campo dei Fiori (the same square on which he was burnt alive in 1600 by the Church) which stares at Saint Peter’s dome in judgement from afar.

  32. Both designs represent their respective country. One looks nice but is a complete disaster, the other looks basic but actually has a functioning economy.
