This was me when people reccomended How I Met Your Mother.
If you enjoy it then genuinely that’s great but holy shit I never even cracked a smirk at that show and I *really* tried. Shits just not funny
Yeah it’d be a lot funnier if all the UK parties worth a damn didn’t already consider us the 51st state in their minds and weren’t full of unthinking amerophiles who’d set themselves and their country on fire if Uncle Sam asked them to. Starmer, Farage, probably Badenoch, not a single PM or likely PM I trust not to be a transatlanticist quisling.
The more we let the Yanks get away with, the more excuses we make for them, the more we stand by their side right or wrong, the more we ignore how glaringly different our cultures are to hyperfixate on shared language, the more supine we become. Turns out Barack was right when he warned us aligning with the USA wasn’t in our interests, only to be disregarded by Brexiteers out of pure racism and intransigence. We’ll all be laughing about how much cleverer we are than the Americans right up until we’re back in the same boat, having learned precisely nothing from Brexit. Stupid, stupid, stupid…
That’s me.
I’m not sure you understand what democracy means.
Struggling to enjoy helldivers 2 because that shits just getting too close to home now.
The US is not and has never been a democracy.
It’s as if The White House showed movie instructing how to run a democracy… but then accidentally showed Idiocracy instead 🤷🏼
(Idiocracy is a pretty amusing movie imho! If you don’t take yourself too seriously… it’s worth a watch).
There’s an old saying that when the US sneezes the world catches the cold. This fuckery is not good for anyone.
Knowing that we in the UK are sleepwalking into a Trump-lite era where Reform get into power by focusing on ridiculous non-issues whilst resolving no actual issues isn’t filling me with happy joy joy feelings John Spartan.
It’s giving “colonies return to sender”
I want to ask them how it feels to throw away their diplomatic and cultural soft power built up over so many decades.
Then I realise they probably know what that concept is, or that they’ve even lost it, because they don’t understand the value of it. And the word “soft” would probably make them twitch out and throw a whitey.
Quite astonishing.
It’s fun it’s a preview of 2029 onwards for us
watching this while reform get voted
Are you not entertained?
To be fair, we’re a constitutional republic, not a democracy. We don’t directly vote for much except for the people that represent our vote.

Stop reading the news and your mental health will thank you for it
Personally I’m worried about the seemingly increasing numbe rof pro trump people over here. Can they just fuck off?
I think it’s because we’re in a bubble here and pay attention to what he’s doing and saying but to uninformed people he’s just the president and they think he’s sticking it to the man or some other stupid shit.
I had one person tell me he seemed like a good businessman with good diplomatic policies and when I asked her to please explain which business and his diplomatic policies were good and where yelling at Zelenksy fell on the spectrum of diplomacy she accused me of being condescending and we couldn’t continue the conversation.
One person I spoke to had never heard of Garcia and his situation. How is this stuff not massively in the news in the UK? No wonder idiots like reform are gaining ground, the real news isn’t being shown.
Even the BBC which has always at least pretended to be objective is not reporting what to me are major news bulletins about the orange dickhead. Definite feeling of them veering the wrong way there.

As an American y’all sound a lot like we did pre-2024 (and pre-2020). Sorry in advance, this shit sucks.
