  1. They probably using windows servers for this 🤣

  2. It’s always this one screen down at the Bahnhof Löwenstrasse, that one shows this RAM error for ages.

Would be interesting to see how they’re managing this many digital signage screens.

  3. It downloaded the latest update, but group policy settings won’t let it install, so the update remains in the system memory which is actually ram by design… Oops

^(I don’t actually know, but I know enough to write IT horror fiction)

  4. yeah a little Preiserhöhung for the greater good of windows task manager hehehe

  5. Saw this, and it instantly reminded me of an anecdote from last year: A friend of mine was working as an IT guy for the Spanish Railways in Catalonia. One day they sent him to fix a computer problem at a middle-size station. He gets there and finds out the entire place is running on **Windows 98… In 2024!** He literally called his boss to ask if he should just set it on fire.

The solution? “Just install Windows XP”.

Problem solved – now it’s good for another 20 years.

  6. They can probably halve their RAM usage by switching to Linux. Especially for such basic usage.

In fact I’m a little surprised because I was under the impression that their displays at train stations are running Linux (I think some of them are even RPis), at least here in Romandie.

  7. Lol they probably called malloc more than they should there

  8. Oops the new implementation leaks some memory.

    Vibe coding 🥰
