Interoperable mobile payment systems in Europe (EMPSA)

  1. EMPSA lets you pay across Europe using your local mobile payment app, though quite a few countries are still missing.

    The members of [EMPSA](https://empsa.org/) so far are:

    * [Payconiq by Bancontact](https://www.payconiq.be/en) (Belgium)
    * [Bluecode](https://bluecode.com/en/) (Germany, Austria)
    * [MobilePay](https://mobilepaygroup.com/) (Denmark, Finland)
    * [MB Way](https://www.mbway.pt/) (Portugal)
    * [Swish](https://www.swish.nu/) (Sweden)
    * [TWINT](https://www.twint.ch/en/) (Switzerland)
    * [Vipps](https://www.vipps.no/) (Norway)
    * [Bancomat Pay](https://bancomat.it/it/bancomat/bancomat-pay%C2%AE), [Plick](https://www.plick.eu/en) (Italy)
    * [Blik](https://blik.com/en) (Poland)
    * [Flik](https://www.flik.si/) (Slovenia)
    * [Kviko](https://kviko.ba/) (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
    * [Blink](https://www.bcard.bg/en) (Bulgaria)
    * [iDEAL](https://www.ideal.nl/en/) (Netherlands)

    *Note that in some cases, the service is integrated into its partner banks’ own apps

  2. Maybe Germany uses Bluecode, but there are no places where you could pay with it😂

    Edit: there is just one company using it: Rossmann, a drugstore

  3. Is this new? Ideal never worked for me in Belgium.

    Or maybe I just didn’t know ans ignored payconiq when I saw it. This needs some overarching branding really.

  4. Mbway is a god send here in Portugal. I pretty much stopped using my bank app and cards. In the app, you can send/resquest money, pay with the app anywhere that accepts cards, withdraw/use a atm without the card and more important, you can create temp CCs to buy stuff online.

  5. Wait, what? Is it means I can, or could in the future transfer money from Poland to, example Germany just by using someones german phone number?
