One of your biggest regrets about President Trump is that you thought that he was a difference of degree and not kind, right? We’re now 100 days into his second term. How do you see him now? Right. So I for the first four years basically from 2015 until after the 2020 election. So not just January 6th, but the call to Georgia, the fake electors, the attempt to overturn an election that and this is against my business model when I say something is unprecedented. That doesn’t help me as a historian. Uh, but this was unprecedented. No American president had ever done this. Andrew Jackson had lost a much closer election. He hashtagged it. He called it a corrupt bargain, but he went back home to Nashville and just ran again. Nobody stormed the capital. Nobody did this. And so that was a difference of kind. Uh, and I I didn’t think the American people would do this again. I didn’t think 49.9% would do it again. But you can’t be for democracy only when you win. And so the question now is we’re all facing this extraordinary test of citizenship. and he is, I think, knocking down a lot of the barriers, a lot of the guard rails, a a lot of the institutions that are flawed and imperfect like all of us, but which have in fact served us well enough to still have a system that’s worth defending.

It is not only Trump but those who support him and his efforts. I personally blame supportive and/ or silent Republicans. Also those who could be bothered to vote in 2016 and 2024. They put their stamp of approval on this behavior. They are the Germans who lived outside of the Death Camps and claimed that they knew nothing!

How is it that I despise both Trump — and many of Trump's opponents? I don't think the 2020 election was stolen by electoral cheating. I do think it was likely turned by the intelligence community's obviously bogus claim that Hunter Biden's laptop was 'Russian disinformation' and the subsequent press and big tech suppression of the story. Had the information about the Biden family corruption contained on the laptop been fully reported, not dismissed and suppressed, Biden would have (and should have) lost. I now wish Trump had won in 2020. Biden was an historically terrible president and also, by this point, we'd be DONE with Trump, not look at another four years. The full court press to get Biden the victory by any means — fair or foul — was one of those things that was not only a crime, it was a mistake. A big one.

They are in support of Trump disregarding the rule of law when he's dealing with people they hate. cash money is an agreement. We agree that if i take a piece of paper to a store, the store agrees to accept the paper for goods or services. It works because we agree. trump received 31% of the vote from ELIGIBLE voters NOT 49.9%. That's why 69% of voters are not happy with trump. 130 million voters either 1) voted for Harris, 2) voted for someone else, 3) didn't vote or 4) their votes weren't counted. The MAJORITY of Americans (69%) simply didn't vote for trump. Please stop the false narrative that the majority of Americans have spoken.
