This is the left side of a pull-out kitchen extractor. We have no idea for long it's been there, just now as we're moving and going through things we spotted it. Added a tape not to make it worse.

Already contacted the landlord but just wanna be sure if we're liable or its considered wear and tear. We've been here 3 years and were the first tenants.

  1. The stopping mechanism of the hood/extractor ends up on that location when it is in full extension. Possibly due to wear and tear, most likely combination of wear and tear and someone that pulled the hood/extractor a bit too hard

  2. Secondelijm en goed aanduwen, eventueel enkele minuten met wat schilderstape opspannen.

  3. Probably not that expensive to repair, could maybe come to an agreement with the landlord to split the bill?

  4. Duct tape. It’s like The Force in Star Wars. It has a light side and a dark side and holds the universe together, as well as stove extractors.
