Strikes in France are likely to cause cancellations and delays to some cross-border trains in and out of Luxembourg this week, national rail operator CFL said on Tuesday.

The strike action is set to last between 19:00 on Tuesday 6 May and 22:00 on Sunday 11 May, according to a press release from the CFL.

Delays and cancellations are expected to affect the Luxembourg – Thionville – Metz commuter line, as well as high-speed TGV services to and from Metz and Paris, as well as the rest of France.

The CFL recommends travellers check current service status on its website or app. French railway company SNCF also has comprehensive information for the Grand-Est and all other regions.

While CFL trains operate cross-border services into Germany, Luxembourg’s rail links to Belgium and France are run by the other countries’ railways – both of which have been affected by strike action this year.
