  1. **TLDR:**

    * **Trump restarted collections on defaulted student loans on May 5.**
    * **The Education Department said 195,000 student-loan borrowers have 30 days before their federal benefits might be seized.**
    * **Later in the summer, over 5 million defaulted student loan borrowers could face wage garnishment.**

  2. I thought Trump got rid of the department of Education?

  3. Yes, but WERE GETTING A F-IN MILITARY parade. What do you people want? Prosperity or North Korea, you voted for the later.

  4. I consider myself one of the most (un)fortunate people alive. I had a fair amount of student loan debt, however I got cancer in my 20s. Luckily we had a real president in office at the time and my loans were discharged under the Obama administration due to hardship.

  5. What remains of the former Education department is nothing but a debt collection department.

  6. Just curious, but I wonder how many of those borrowers went and voted. And who they voted for?

  7. So you can have your social security taken away to pay student loan debts?

    RIP social safety net.

  8. There’s no education department i thought? I guess it’s just a collection agency
