LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Duplin County felon is behind bars on DWI and stolen gun charges.
Detectives in Lenoir County say they arrested William Denmark after a chase began in Pink Hill on Tuesday.
According to detectives, Denmark failed to stop his car when they tried to pull him over.
The chase ended in Duplin County at his home on Mill Creek Lane, where detectives arrested him.
During a search, detectives found a gun with an altered serial number, as well as other weapons.
Detectives say the man had previous felony convictions for murder and kidnapping in West Virginia.
The 37-year-old was arrested and charged with several traffic charges, along with:
Felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felonFelony possession of a firearm with an altered serial number Felony flee to eludeMisdemeanor carrying a concealed gunMisdemeanor carrying a concealed weaponMisdemeanor DWI
He was taken to Lenoir County Jail with a $130,000 secured bond.
