> “I was pitched a ‘Tommy Boy 2,’ which was our characters’ kids are together,” Spade said. “I was pitched this two years ago, and I was like I can’t find a scenario with no Chris Farley. He was the whole movie. It would be too much of a sell out. I can’t imagine it. No one could do that. It was our kids and it was about them and I was going to help them on the road. Listen, it was about Chris. If we did another one back then it would’ve been a blast.”
Thank god. The first one was great because of Farley. A sequel in today’s day and age would have sucked
How the hell did they plan on a Tommy Boy sequel without Tommy Boy???
Spade is from money. He doesn’t need sympathy scripts.
That’s his way of saying offer more.
This is the guy that did Joe Dirt part 2 AFTER reading the script.
Didn’t stop sandler from making happy gilmour 2.
Greatest thing David spade ever did was regect this. That and defending himself against his stalker lol.
Feels like a move Netflix would’ve tried to make…
Tommy Boy 2: Fat Guy in a Little Coat
It would be fucking terrible. Good call.
Chris Farley? Not funny, Amy Schumer hilarious. He should remake it with her.
Come on they already did a sequal. Black sheep.
Didn’t mind doing the direct TV commercial with him though
I just got a visceral memory of being at my cousins wedding when I was about 8, just taking my first bite of cake, and one of my brothers loudly saying so the whole table was aware, “I can hear you getting fatter!” Not even joking, Tommy Hilfiger was at our table and laughed.
Only upside to Farley being dead is not getting shitty sequels to classics.
Good call, Spade.
Good call. Even if Chris Farley were alive today, I feel like it wouldn’t hit the same as in 1995. The fat jokes would have to be cut out
He must need money by now, right? Farley’s been gone for a while.
I just wish Joe Dirt would’ve had the two of them… I know Chris’s brother was in it a a cameo…but I feel we were robbed of a great movie. (Not that Joe Dirt isn’t actually great).
How can you have a Tommy Boy sequel without a Tommy in the film?
Weekend at Tommy’s
Honestly… he could do a sequel where Tommy died and he is paired with his son; cross country roadtrip for the funeral or something Tommy left behind.
