1. Good to see, I didn’t think the trial went far enough at the time, since it didn’t involve the repricing of season tickets or singles to account for the fact that peak prices weren’t in use.

   So hopefully we see these also now repriced with the adoption being made permanent.

2. This is great news. I’ve always believed that peak-time pricing was an unfair tax on those of us who operate a 9-5 existence, which even now accounts for a large proportion of the working population.

   Now we just need to get the trains to run a reliable service and be less susceptible to leaves and rain. Before anyone comes at me, I’m very aware that a lot of rail network issues sit with the rail network themselves rather than ScotRail.

   Very much the law of unintended consequences in play.

   I never got why peak time costs more anyway. Trains are most dense at those times and the marginal cost per additional person is almost nothing (doesn’t require an additional driver,

   Surely the cost of a train with several hundred people on should be far cheaper than one with a few dozen

5. Paid for by English taxpayers via the Barnett formula no doubt. I’m glad the Scottish government is happy to throw other peoples money at “limited success” its a testament to their competence.

7. Way to go. Peak fares are almost criminal, especially in this cost of living environment
