Thanks for disproving your own scam, digitec.

  1. Yeah no, in the graph they show the lowest price from any of the vendors listed, whereas the “instead of” refers to digitec’s own price.

  2. It’s literally the contrary of a scam if they volountarily show you the price graph for more than a year. Who else does this?

Besides: Price changes and availability are going crazy anyway recently due to the supply line shortages.

  3. It is regulated and in this case not legal:

In this case: the price was never 335.- and it is not allowed to compare against a Listenpreis. If this sale is promoted as 235.- statt 335.- for i.e. 3 days, the price must have been 335.- for 2×3=6 days directly before the sale.

    Edit:
    ~~A competitor could sue.~~

A competitor or you could inform Seco and they would issue a fine.

  4. Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. It seems this sub just loves jumping to the defense of digitec no matter what

Edit: ok so this didn’t age so well. Anyway, thread *was* being downvoted like there’s no tomorrow

  5. Digitec is a Reseller. So they want and have to make money. They are not your friend or your buddy and most certainly not welfare. That being said they are one of the most trusted Resellers in Switzerland and my to go to Shop if i need anything IT related. And even Galaxus is awesome.

Anyways i always suggest to use [www.toppreise.ch](https://www.toppreise.ch) if you look for a good price. If you see a lot of other offers with the same price then you are being fooled. But if there is a remarkable gap between the other shops and Digitec you know that you can have a good deal.

  6. That’s why no one should look at a the sale price (from x reduced to y). Just look at the item for what it is. Is it worth that much? What do competitors sell for? Discount amounts are completely irrelevant imo.

But I guess lots of people are used to that, and want to feel like getting a good deal.

  7. I don’t think it’s problematic (or just far less) when they are being transparent about it. You can point out that they use marketing tricks like every major reseller, but on the other hand we must admit that their pricing graphs make it incredibly transparent.

  8. I don’t like digitec and galaxus. Their motto with „more than a store“ is just annoying and frustrating to me. They show me ads of their blog articles that was news 1 or 2 weeks ago. Some of their blog articles (while not often) are politically not neutral and sometimes you can even find ads in them. I know many love digitec galaxus and many only shop there even though there are often far from being the cheapest. And yes I know not everyone checks the price and some do care more about service. This really just confirms to me how scummy digitec galaxus is.

  9. they’ve also listed a PC as on sale from an absurd price, when that PC was built by digitec themselves (so isn’t available anywhere else at any price) and has never been on sale for a different price at all.
