I’m trying really hard not to connect those two in my head. Seems fair enough though.
The far right’s behaviour doing more favours for the establishment, funny how it keeps working out like that.
I’m not sure I’m ok with any government telling anyone what they can wear ever . Seems like a slippery slope . The Garda have enough power, and it goes to some of the heads very quickly.
Yay, more power to Garda. I’m all for reasonable things, but pretending this won’t be used to stop certain protests and people is bullshit.
The state is becoming more and more authoritarian (The mask ban)
Good man Bill!
What loser takes sex for rent. Besides being a dirt bag. Just loser shit.
Interesting combination. Are landlords now wearing masks while having sex with tenants…?
It would appear when first reading the headline that the two were intertwined
>Bill to outlaw sex for rent
Is this not just prostitution does this really require its own bill ?
That law better be specific as fuck. I dont condone wearing masks in public, in fact im against it. However, giving gardaí these kind of powers is wrong and autocratic. Its easy to give power, very very hard to take away.
Mam’ll be pissed. Will have to move out.
The comments ….so many fools here wow
Another week of everyone complaining the guards do nothing and have no power, immediately followed by the same people complaining about giving guards more power.
The pros are obviously gonna outweigh the cons lads, take a look at any picture of the anti immigration protest and look at the amount of balaclavas.
Both approving the mask bill, and lumping it in with something with overwhelming support, is authoritarian police state shit sprinkled with a dash of cowardice- so just another day at the office for FF & FG.
Is sex for rent not prostitution and already illegal?
So on the outlawing of sex for rent, what protections are there for the victim? Does it address the actual economic barriers that disincentivise someone from coming forward in such a situation? Will the victim still rent from the landlord for the duration of the trial if they (predominantly she) goes to the authorities? Or will she end up homeless? Afterwards, what’s the property relation between the landlord and tenant?
These sound like pointed questions, but are these things actually addressed in the bill? Or is it all talk?
