Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that he maintains good relations with his Greek counterpart, George Gerapetritis, but emphasized that Turkey has no intention of backing down from its “red lines.”

“There is no reason for us to retreat from our interests in the Eastern Mediterranean or the Aegean. We want to build good relations with Greece, and we are engaging in discussions toward that goal. We have a constructive dialogue with the new foreign minister. Their red lines and our red lines are clear. Our aim is to find a way for both sides to defend their interests while respecting these red lines,” he told lawmakers.
