It always surprises me this thing about French surrender.
Britain as a whole defines much of its military accomplishments in the context of wars fought against the French – Poitiers, Crecy, Agincourt (100 Years War, which they won), Marlborough, countless naval engagements, Napoleonic wars, etc.. If they are such surrender monkeys, there surely is no military “glory” in beating them? All those Britons that died fighting them did so against an unworthy opponent. Of all the people accusing the French of being rubbish at fighting, we should be the last.
It isn’t like they are the Italians in WW2.
It all seems to stem from historical ignorance and just tagging along with all things American (the 2 often go together). They started all this when France rightly refused to invade Iraq for no good reason.

Anglo Saxons were a bunch of different European tribes who came after the Romans invaded.

The French reputation for surrendering is very unfair, they essentially sacrificed their fighting force so that we could get ours off the beaches to regroup and come back later to help them.

Always felt bad for the French tbh, good men gought and died to slow the Germans while we evacuated at Dunkirk so we could carry on the fight. Without them the war would have been over for us in 6 weeks as well.
Those poor men deserve recognition, their efforts were some of the most important of the entire war.
